The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Aymon who gave us tips and information. The breakfast area on the terrace was lovely and the food always fresh. The lady who cleaned our room was excellent and had a wonderful attitude to her job. Overall I think it is the location and the staff who make this hotel a good base for seeing Rome.
The lift is very small and if there was anyone else in it you had to wait until it was free if there was more than 3 people in it.
I booked the room for my mother-in-law and her sister, both over 70. The staff was very friendly and could even managed to find a Russian speaking person to explain everything on the phone. The breakfast was great.
A super hotel in a brilliant location within easy walking distance of the major sites, and lots bars and nice restaurants close by.Spotlessly clean. Rooms small but have everything necessary, ours even had a lovely large terrace with furniture, a bonus in a city centre hotel. Bathroom beautifully appointed, mini-bar (cheaper than to buy in local bars), air- con which was a god send, safety deposit box in room too. Breakfasts fresh and plentiful can be eaten indoors or out on a lovely terrace. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a stay in Rome.
Excellent breakfast and very nice courtyard for dining. One of the front desk staff was exceptional - smiled and cracked jokes. The other two were very efficient, but not as friendly. They would order us a taxi for 6 adults, which was very economical to get to different locations. Once you recognize the type of taxi, you can usually find one that will take 6 passengers - even if it is 3rd or 4th in the taxi line. The front desk staff were also very helpful for tours and reservations. Good air conditioning.
Tremendous variations in the rooms, which is not uncommon in older buildings. One double had a severe mold problem and after one night in that room the couple in our group requested a move to another room that was much nicer. There were two triple rooms in our group and one was rather cramped with a king and double bed. The other was a corner room with a double and two twin beds and much more floor space - a very nice room for the price.
The location was near to transport links but yet quiet.
The staff were abrupt, the room was small, the hotel had no bar, quite run down,
Good location; staff is very helpful
Rooms have to be renewed since furnuture is at the end of their life
We stayed at Hotel Viminale from the 8th to the 11th of July, 2011. they staff were very kind and helpful. our room was on the 4th floor, nice and quiet, and roomy. the bathroom was lovely, and spotless, there were extra pillows and a blanket in the closet and plenty of room. I would most certainly recommend this to anyone who is traveling to Rome, it is within walking distance to the Colosseum and to the Termini train station where you can catch the Metro as well. lots of great shopping and restaurants within a short or longer walk........
The dining room staff in the morning, ( one lady in particular) was not friendly and would go around cleaning up, smacking the chairs into place, and always with a very unpleasant attitude towards the guests.....but the breakfast buffet was lovely, so we just ignored her.
Very nice staff and clean rooms. Parking costs about 30 euros a day in a parking garage a few blocks away. It is in a quiet area in the middle of the city. You can walk to most places or walk to the Metro station. Excellent free breakfast in the morning. Great place for the money!!
We really enjoyed the roof top gardens. What a wonderful place to relax after a hard day of site seeing in Rome. The breakfast buffet was the best of any hotel we stayed at on our 17 day trip. Eating in the garden for breakfast was such a pleasant beginning to our day. The location of the hotel was perfect-close to bus stops, within walking distance of a lot of sites, and great neighborhood restaurants.
Hotel staff was very helpful. The location is superb, if You come to Rome by train - hotel is only 5 minutes walk from Termini Centrale, but in a quiet street, 15 minutes from Coliseum and Forum Romanum. The breakfast was rich and varied by day.
The carpet had a funny smell on the first night but it could be eliminated by turning the conditioner on.
Front desk, especially morning staff, are excellent - attentive and efficient without being smarmy. Moved us, immediately, away from a moldy smelling room.
Breakfast pastries tasted stale. Cold meats cheap and too chewy. New coffee machine needed and should be cleaned regularly. Wonderful breakfast room location.
We thought the location was very good for getting out and about around Rome.
We thought that most of the staff on reception were very abrubt, we bareley got an hello or good bye. there were 2 staff memebrs that were very polite on 2 of the days of our stay and 1 of those was on the day of our departure.
The location of the hotel was excellent as all main tourist attractions were within easy walking distance as was the termini train station. The hotel facility that had the wow factor for me was the roof garden/terraces. It was a joy to be able to sit up there in the evening and sip a Prosecco-la dolce vita!
The hotel has a breakfast restaurant only and a mini bar in the bedrooms. There is no bar or food service and I think it would be good to highlight this fact on its website. This did not ruin our stay as there are lots of good restaurants and bars around the corner-it really is a 3 star hotel in a 4 star location
First of all excellent location, good hotel, not far from Metro, bus etc... nice neighberhood, bars, resaturants very charmy, room is very pleasure but a little bit too small, excellent bad room, breakfast is good all is present but is not special, friendly people at the desk, they gives correct information!
The room we had was comfortable and have access to garden terrance which was fabulous. The bathroom spacious and modern. Location of the hotel ideal and 15 mins to the Termini station. Many restaurants in the neighbourhood. I specially liked the one round the corner called the Napoli restaurant. breakfast was one of the better ones I have come across with full range of cereals, yogurt, fruits, bread, jam coffee or tea.
At Euro130/nite for a double a bit pricey but I guess that the the normal price for a 3 star hotel in Rome. There are many hotel in the vicinity (i.e near the Termini train station) and you can get a double for half the price. of course you pay for what you get and the cheaper hotel not as nice as Hotel Viminale.
